Rubin, Edward Summary of the IPCC Special Report on Carbon Dioxide Capture and Storage Carbon Dioxide capture and storage (CCS) is an option for reducing atmospheric emissions of CO2 from human activities. CCS involves the use of technology to first collect and concentrate the CO2 produced at industrial and energy related sources, transport it to a suitable storage location, and then store it away from the atmosphere for a long period of time. The IPCC Special Report asesses the current state of knowledge regarding the technical, scientific, environmental, economic, and societal dimensions of CCS. Engineering and Public Policy 2006-02-01
