Topical Scatterplots of h-indexes: A Compassionate Approach to Research Metrics

The use of the h-index to compare researchers must be done with caution and compassion. To be fair the researcher, any comparison must consider the sub-discipline of the researcher and the longevity of the researcher's career. This effort employs a scatter-plot of h-indexes per length of career for two distinct sub-disciplines. One scatter-plot covers mathematical logic and the other covers cybersecurity. The h-indexes themselves are from the leading researchers per the Scopus database.
