Proceedings of a conference hosted by Carnegie Mellon University and the Middle East Forum, June 6-8, 1989

This volume presents the technical papers in full, as well as excerpts from the politcal papers and the discussions following all sessions. We believe that it provides a unique historical snapshot of a critical moment in the Middle East peace process. It shows how central individuals viewed the past, present, and future. Its forward-looking analyses will be relevant to guiding and understanding future developments for a long time to come, regardless of what develops on the political scene.
