The dataset includes the inclusion SEM analysis of 17 ladle and tundish samples, from 3 Al deoxidized heats. Heats 1 and 2 include 5 ladle samples and 1 tundish sample. Heat 1 has 4 ladle samples and 1 tundish sample.
The SEM analysis was carried out at Carnegie Mellon University using a Themo Fisher / FEI Aspex Explorer SEM, at an accelerating voltage of 10 kV. The Merlet phi-rho-z algorithm was utilized to convert raw EDS spectra counts to compositions. EDS was taken using chord raster.
Particles with Si counts greater than 100 and Fe greater than 85 wt% were designated as non-inclusions.
