Food brings us together. Whether a family gathering, an evening with friends, or your holiday work party, food is a must-have for any social occasion. It can be thought of as our most basic necessity, or to a serious foodie, an extravagant experience. This exhibition celebrates the bountiful food most of us enjoy every day and reminds us to be thankful for it. At the same time, it invites us to ponder the reverie we have for food and whether its centrality is healthy for our society, considering the current epidemic of obesity. This exhibition is meant to have mass-appeal, and could be presented around the holidays, in conjunction with a food drive. Other community event tie-ins could be cooking classes, mixology classes, etc.

Bountiful Harvest: A Sustainable Food Panel & Tasting

A community event tied to Future Tenant’s current Bountiful exhibition, BOUNTIFUL HARVEST brings together local agricultural, distribution, and culinary leaders to share the importance of sustainable food practices. Our three local partners, Grow Pittsburgh, The East End Food Co-Op and Legume Bistro, will host an informal panel session and share the work of their organizations. There will also be a selection of responsibly sourced food and coffee to sample, courtesy of Legume Bistro and The East End Food Co-Op.
