Fools of Transport

Laurie Shapiro and Hannah Thompson's residency at Future Tenant will culminate with a performance, taking place within an installation, using various elements to mock the absurdities of looking into our future. On Friday night, beginning with fabric sculptures (think cars, bus stops, etc.), the installation leads the viewer through dark, curving tunnels, into a brightly lit space where a "live oracle" will be performing, with participation from the audience. Each element symbolizes an important part of our lives – the whimsical, searching and seeking, enlightenment...Saturday, Fools of Transport will host a DJ'ed dance party, and guests are encouraged to sport costumes – all characters from the original performance will be in costume.
