Window Installation by Joshua Space and Laurie Trok. Marker, Vinyl Film, Tape. Using elements of the city as seen from the window, we sought to bridge the relationship of the storefront and the pedestrian on the street. The installation is viewed from the sidewalk, but is a history of looking out. Transfigured views of multiple vantage points are layered upon one another, depicting gestures of forms seen from within the gallery and as reflections from outside. Some elements are fixed and can be extracted by the viewer, with some challenge due to parallax in viewing from the street. Other elements were ephemeral, recorded only in passing. Altogether, we sought to capture a sense of the rhythm and energy of the Penn Avenue city-scape as seen from Future Tenant.
