Using data relating to a currently operating public emergency ambulance system, the authors endeavor to estimate the nature of the demand for such service. Despite certain limitations in the data, it has been possible to develop a model that explains variations and accurately predicts the result and type of public emergencies to be handled by the public system in a year.
