Economic Evaluation of Public Health Programs

journal contribution
posted on 2001-04-01, 00:00 authored by Lester B Lave

Judging from expenditures and publications, economic evaluation of public health programs is a growth sector. These evaluations make use of more traditional aspects of public health (1-4), such as analysis of facilities and manpower for planning (5, 6); of reimbursement such as hospital cost containment (7, 8); and of consumer demand, including the role of private and public insurance and such attributes as co-pay and deductible provisions (3, 9-12).
