Making decisions about gift donations to the library can be
overwhelming when you accept your first professional music librarian job. The authors
provide insight into their academic institutions and offer practical advice
based on personal experience and a review of the literature. The goal is to help
newer music librarians explore ideas and documents they can implement at their
institutions, and give more experienced librarians an opportunity to revisit their gifts
policies and procedures.
