Innovative design systems : where are we, and where do we go from here

Abstract: "This report reviews the state of the art in systems that innovate. The review concentrates more on the techniques used in these systems rather than what the system actually did. This report reviews some of the important issues for DA systems that work in domains requiring non-routine and innovative approaches to problem solving. This part of the report covers issues such as analogy & metaphor, exploration & discovery and creativity.
