Optical Tracking for Performance Testing of Microsurgical Instruments

It makes 1000 five-degree-of-freedom position measurements per second with 3 micron resolution over a 3cm workspace. The measurement principle is optical triangulation of modulated lights on the probe using position-sensitive-diode (PSD) sensors.
