Social Support and Growth Following Adversity
For decades researchers have focused on the negative psychological and physical consequences of stressful life events. Although researchers have noted the potential for people to experience positive consequences early on (i.e. Taylor, 1983) it is only in the past 10-20 years that this possibility has been taken seriously.
