Those who find the Wealth of Nations relevant for the present day are inclined to accept as true the statement that as economy in which resources are allocated in markets promotes efficiency and freedom. Not only do we accept the statement as true, we take pleasure in reminding ourselves about the beauty of the analysis leading to the conclusion. Indeed there are many in our profession who admire the beauty as much as the truth.
