This paper explores automation in monitoring the well-being
of senior adults. Namely, it introduces TwitterJacket, an
automated activity and health monitoring solution through
the use of wearable sensors and mobile devices. The system
takes advantage of wearable electrocardiography (ECG)
monitoring and accelerometer data to recognize user activity
and publish on Twitter. In this paper, we discuss the
motivation behind such platforms, the TwitterJacket architecture,
and the present implementation.
