The artists in this exhibition both endorse and refute ordered systems simultaneously. The work challenges the order between the physical and the abstract while offering ambiguity “in the place of” reality. Intimacy, oppression, reordered memories, and faith stand “in place of” and “in front of” the artwork featured. Some works obliterate order, while others reorder and renew the intimacy of regulated systems. The work is literally “in front of” and FOR the viewer, offering a translucent truth “in place of” how we view systems through art.
