These three sample data management plans are designed to be used in any educational setting on data management and writing data management plans.
The three sample data management plans were built in DMPTool and adhere to data management plan requirements from the National Science Foundation, National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Institute for Museum and Library Services. They are meant to be critiqued by learners in terms of how well they describe the research project and the management of research outputs, and in what areas they lack or could be improved.
The first data management plan (filename is "2021_DMP_Sample_NEH"), developed in conjunction with CMU Libraries faculty Dr. Emma Slayton, is called "Conducting Focus Groups to Understand Doctor Who's Role in Geopolitical Understanding" and uses the template from the National Endowment for the Humanities, Office of Digital Humanities.
The second data management plan (filename is "2021_DMP_Sample_IMLS") is called "Identifying Trends, Pain Points, and Opportunities in Research Data Management Education through Twitter" and uses the template from the Institute for Museum and Library Services - Datasets.
The third data management plan (filename is "2021_DMP_Sample_NSF") is called "Impact of Warming Waters in the Bay of Fundy on Lobster Fishery Health" and uses the template from the National Science Foundation - Generic.
