Bibliometrics Service for Analyzing Performances in Civil and Environmental Engineering Departments

Bibliometrics measures have been used to better understand the institutional research scopes and productivities. Requested by a patron, we used SciVal, a tool for visualizing research performance, to analyze the productivities of the research faculty members in CEE departments. First, we created groups of researchers in four institutes. Then, we chose SciVal’s different metrics, such as Scholarly output and Citation numbers, to evaluate the productivity of the researchers. Finally, we used SciVal’s benchmark Overview and Benchmark features to compare the results across institutes. Results of the analysis are used by the patron for reporting the department level performance. This presentation was given at the first SciVal North American Conference on April 17th, 2018.
