<p dir="ltr">Memory is fundamental to how we understand ourselves, evaluate our abilities, and form beliefs about the world. Changes in memory over time are therefore consequential for our judgments and decisions. This dissertation examines both how our memories change over time and what we understand about those changes: how recollections for important events transform systematically over relatively short early intervals, and how our skills decay with out our awareness.</p>
