Filename: Overall experiment schedule and explanation of trials Short description: This document goes over the experiments conducted on each date, the instruments in use, where/what the instruments are measuring, and the variables being tested. Not all the experiments specified year (especially the earlier expeirments) were used in the final paper. This was largley due to the limitations of the instruments spelled out in the paper's supplemental. B. Filename: Infectious Aerosol Enclosure Instrument Data Short description: This folder contains all of the raw data files from the various instruments for this project. The experiments are separatd by instrument, then date, then trial. The data itself is in their raw data output by each instrument. AIM (Aerosol Instrument Manager version 10.2) was used to export a .csv or .txt that was then pulled into Matlab for analysis. Data exported includes: CPCs: integration time particle/cm^3 and total particle count OPC: mass per size bin per unit time (and total mass for trial) SMPS: bin diamter and mass/surface area associated with each bin APS: bin diamter and mass/surface area associated with each bin RHprobe: simple .csv files that document the RH in period before, during, and after the use of a nebulizer C. Filename: Survey results from medical staff Short description: This is an excel document that specifies the survey questions as well as how the participants responsed to each. The survey consisted of 39 medical doctors and other qualified medical personnel using the enclosure on mannequins Additional Notes on File Relationships, Context, or Content The instrument files will include misc. data around collection parameters that should be noted if using this data. File Naming Convention: In the raw instrument data folder, all data is separated by instrument. Each trail is then separated by date. These instruments and dates correspond to information in file A listed above. Within a specific dates' folder each the individual trial/experiment is specified in the file name. The OPC will have a few exceptions where the trial number in the schedule doesn't exactly match the the file number, but number is still sequential, so first trial of that day will be the smallest file name in that folder. ----------------------------------------- DATA DESCRIPTION FOR: Overall experiment schedule ----------------------------------------- 1. Number of variables:6 2. Number of cases/rows: 9 pages 3. Missing data codes: Any gaps are noted in the schedule 4. Variable List A. Name: 3M drape Description: The use of a 3M steri 1000 drape for use to cover the main hand port of the enclosure. Drape was slightly bigger than hands port when used. B. Name: Press + seal Description: Glad brand Press 'n Seal material commonly found in American stores C. Name: Micro neb Description: Omron Brand Micro-Air electronic nebulizer D. Name: AOT neb Description: this nebulizer was determined not to be useful for this project due to large gas flow required and positive pressure resulting in enclosure E. Name: airbrush Description: Paasche Talon air brush. Initially on house air, was eventually powered via nitrogen tank due to more consistent control of air flow F. Name: Industrial cling wrap Description: Moving plastic wrap commonly used to package furniture or other items for shipping. This brand was Goodwrap ----------------------------------------- DATA DESCRIPTION FOR: survey results from medical staff ----------------------------------------- 1. Number of variables: 5 2. Number of cases/rows: 71 3. Missing data codes: Should contain no missing data points or error codes 4. Variable List A. Name: 1 Description: strongly disagree to the survey question A. Name: 2 Description: disagree A. Name: 3 Description: neutral A. Name: 4 Description: agree A. Name: 5 Description: strongly agree ----------------------------------------- DATA DESCRIPTION FOR: Infection Aerosol Enclosure Instrument data ----------------------------------------- 1. Number of variables: variable (instrument dependent, labeled in file, uniform for each instrument's dataset) 2. Number of cases/rows: variable (instrument and experiment length dependent) 3.
