The scalar glueball and Kπ scattering are studied using Markov-chain-based Monte Carlo computations with quantum chromodynamics (QCD) formulated on a space-time lattice. Lattice QCD offers an ab initio, systematically improvable framework in which to probe the low-lying, non-perturbative spectrum of QCD using numerical calculations.
